I recently took my car in for a replacement CV joint the bread and butter of any garage. Was quoted roughly 35% higher price than the average offered by competition , but opted to go to Japex based on customer reviews. Halfway through the repair I get a call stating that its being difficult and that theyll charge an extra half hour on top of the quote. Fair enough until you realise this lot value their time at 72 an hour! Ridiculous. (A further 25%) to further emphasise how ridiculous their hourly rate is - theyd come in at 150k a year , thats the same as the prime minister!I cant fault their expertise or professionalism however, but for anything other than newer vehicles Id definitely recommend taking your custom elsewhere to somewhere far more competitively priced. They use genuine parts from the manufacturers so thats great for new cars, but not so much for my 20 year old runabout, where the part will far outlive the useful mileage of the car.Overall use these for MOTs and new or expensive car maintainence. But for cheaper runabouts get them repaired elsewhere.
Had an obscure electrical issue with my car, Ross and everyone else at the garage were extremely helpful and took care of my car as much as they could.I would highly recommend these guys to anyone. Excellent service.

Another great experience provided by Stuart and the team at Japex. My son's car needed a lot of work doing to it and time ended up being short, but even though Vauxhall couldn't supply the part needed themselves, Stuart still managed to track it down and obtain it in time. It's no surprise really because the service provided by Japex is always second to none. I'm so pleased to have found an honest bunch of expert mechanics who provide such a great service at such a reasonable price.
